Steve Walker
Head Judge, Steve Walker ConsultancySteve was Chief Executive of AmicusHorizon between 2008 and 2012, leading them to become one of the sector's best performers. For 20 years Steve was Chief Executive of Tower Homes, part of the L&Q Group. Tower became sector leaders in affordable home ownership, receiving three stars from the Audit Commission in 2007 and winning the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for award in 2006.
Steve was Chair of the Home Ownership Advisory Panel, the London Home Ownership Group and a member of the Government's Home Ownership Task Force. Steve was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2008 Affordable Home Ownership Awards.
Liz Burcher

Alan Camp
Director, Alan Camp ArchitectsAlan decided at an early age to become an architect. He studied at Kings' School in Rochester, and went on to obtain a first class honours diploma in architecture at the Canterbury School of Art.
Following academic research into colonial modernism and traditional building of West Africa, Alan helped found and run the School of Architecture at the University of Ife, for three years. Upon returning to the UK in the early 1980s, he helped found Avery Associates with Brian Avery.
In 1984, he joined with Francis Machin to form Machin Camp Architects; the company then became Alan Camp Architects in 1993.
Bernie Conroy
Owner, Bernie Conroy ConsultingBernie enjoyed 27 years of huge success as Director of Home Ownership and Sales and Marketing at Metropolitan, responsible for 15,000+ low cost home ownership sales, intermediate housing and outright sale. She set up the first Homes England (then under English Partnership) Post Sales Agent and London Help to Buy Agent services. Bernie's extensive experience includes influencing numerous government Low cost home ownership reviews, chairing regional and national home ownership groups, and helping to develop strategy and operational development.

Domestic Violence Practice Lead, Achieving for ChildrenJudith is a single mother and has been a shared owner for 15 years. She was for some time a housing association resident board member where she contributed significantly to strategy and driving up customer service standards. Judith knows only too well the value of quality affordable housing. Judith currently works in the public sector in Children's Social Services and for 17 years in the Criminal Justice system and is passionate about equality and diversity and inclusion.
Peter Hibbert
Director, Affordable Housing SolutionsOver the last 20 years, Peter has built up in depth experience of developing large, mixed use, affordable housing projects. His ability to bridge private and public sector issues is a central feature of his work.
Peter began his property career as a marketing executive with Trusthouse Forte Hotels, before moving into the residential sector in the 1980s. Later he became Director of Development for a large London-based housing association, pioneering joint initiatives with private sector developers. Before establishing Affordable Housing Solutions, Peter was Assistant Chief Executive of the Network Group. Peter is a chartered surveyor and project manager.
Alison Hill
Resident, Clarion Housing Group (formerly Circle)Alison has lived in a shared ownership flat for about 20 years after moving to London from Portsmouth for work. In spite of having had a house in Portsmouth for many years, Alison says there is no way she could have afforded anywhere decent to live in London, without taking advantage of a shared ownership scheme. Her flat, and some of the houses on the estate, are run by Circle. Alison was asked to join Circle's Residents and Service Users' Panel (RASP) which scrutinises what is going on across the group.
Patrick Law
Director of Communications, The Guinness PartnershipPatrick has been Director of Communications at Guinness Partnership since 2017. Patrick spent nine years as Director of Corporate Affairs at Barratt Developments, the country's largest housebuilder, and was a member of the Company Executive Committee. He had responsibility for public policy, media and investor relations as well as employee communications.
Previously Patrick had a long career within the energy industry, including as Director of the Chief Executive's office at Centrica, Director of Corporate Affairs at British Gas and Director of Public Affairs at Centrica. He served for seven years as a trustee of National Energy Action, the fuel poverty charity, including a year as chair. He has sat on a number of Government and industry working parties and advisory boards.
Nick Lieb
Head of Operations, Share to BuyHaving completed a masters in urban regeneration at the University of Birmingham, Nick began his career in the affordable home ownership sector by securing a place on L&Q's esteemed graduate scheme. During his time at L&Q, Nick worked in both the communications and marketing departments, until he joined Share to Buy in 2013.
At Share to Buy Nick has helped to successfully deliver the Mayor of London's First Steps property portal and organises the biannual London Home Show, an event that attracts thousands of attendees and is established as the number one event for first-time buyers in London.
Fiona MacGregor
Executive Director of Regulation, Social Housing RegulatorFiona was appointed director of the HCA in 2015 and is responsible for the regulation of social housing providers. Prior to this, as director of programmes, she was responsible for the HCA's affordable housing and help to buy programmes. Fiona has over 20 years' housing experience, covering development investment, programme delivery and policy development. She has worked at the HCA since it launched in 2008, before which she was deputy director of investment at the Housing Corporation, and prior to that, head of development at London & Quadrant.
Dominic McKenzie
Director, Dominic McKenzie ArchitectsEstablished in 2011, DMA is an award-winning practice based in Islington. Since starting the practice, their work has been frequently published in the UK and internationally. Their project Eidolon House was winner of 'Best One off House below 2500 sq ft' at the 2014 Sunday Times British Homes Awards and was shortlisted for the 2015 Camden Design Awards.
Prior to starting DMA, Dominic was a director at Alison Brooks Architects. He has acted as an independent senior design consultant for successful competition-winning housing projects. Between 2011 and 2014 Dominic ran a Master of Architecture unit at Birmingham School of Architecture, where his group was highlighted as standout unit in the Architects' Journal review of the year.
Richard Petty
Lead Director, Residential Advisory, JLLRichard is a chartered surveyor and lead director for residential advisory at JLL, the leading international property consultants. He has nearly 30 years' professional experience, and is a specialist in affordable housing, including the valuation and development of affordable housing stock and land. His team values and advises on over 650,000 units of housing throughout the UK, and reports valuations in excess of £25bn each year.
He acts for all the lenders in the sector, and his team has a client list of over 250 housing associations, large and small, including all the G15, as well as local authorities and private developers. Richard is currently a board member and chair of Dolphin Living, the not-for-profit housing association subsidiary of Dolphin Square Foundation; and a non-executive director of Anchor, the largest not-for-profit provider of retirement housing and care in the UK.
Peter Sloane
Owner, Sloane ConsultingEight years ago at Savills, Peter set up and ran a sales and marketing team specialising in regeneration, mixed use and mixed tenure projects. The team worked closely with Savills Housing Division and focused on providing development services to housing associations and clients unfamiliar with private residential development strategies.
Recent major regeneration projects where Peter managed development services, including sales and marketing strategies, include Bermondsey Spa with Hyde Housing, Woolwich Central, Love Lane with Spenhill/Tesco and Maiden Lane Estate, York Way with London Borough of Camden.
Colin Smith
Colin’s career spans over 40 years in housing. Starting in the Greater London Council he initially worked in the new build team working on new developments in the East End of London. It soon became clear that large estates were not the way forward. He therefore moved to the Housing Association Section in the team, funding new build on a much smaller scale. He then moved to Orbit, heading up the acquisition team for development in London and the home counties. For the past 20 years Colin has been at Crest Nicholson as Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Partnership Homes. Working with Registered Providers, his team has negotiated contracts to provide close to 10,000 affordable homes over this period. In November 2017 he decided that it was time to retire and look at different opportunities with which to get involved.
Matt Sugden
Executive Director, Governance and Business Assurance, Accent HousingMatt joined Accent Housing in 2005 as a solicitor within the in-house legal team. In his current position as Executive Director, Governance and Business Assurance, Matt oversees the legal, corporate governance, health and safety, procurement, business assurance, insurance, regulation and HR functions of a national housing association.
Silvia Ullmayer
Director, Ullmayer Sylvester ArchitectsUllmayer Sylvester Architects, set up in 2005, is a practice that engages in urban, civic and domestic context attempting to make high-quality, beautiful yet frequently economic projects and environments. They have won a number of national and international awards.
Silvia thinks that architecture evolves from an understanding of materials and construction techniques, but most of all revolves around real people. Previously, she has worked for Caruso St John Florian Beigel, Wilkinson Eyre and with Allies and Morrison. Silvia is currently an external examiner at the University of Cambridge and she has been a guest critic at various schools including LMU, Oxford Brookes and the Architecture Association School of Architecture.
Stacey Mitchell
Director, Sales and Marketing, Countryside PropertiesStacey is Director of Sales and Marketing at Countryside Properties - currently responsible for four regeneration projects delivering 5000 homes in partnership with the GLA and housing associations. Stacey joined Countryside from Millgate Homes - luxury house developer - where she was senior sales manager selling homes with an average value of £3m. This was significantly different to her 16 years at L&Q group as sales manager responsible for helping thousands of first time buyers through a range of low cost home ownership initiatives.
